  • Scottish Art
Hammer Prints was set up by Nigel Henderson and Eduardo Paolozzi in 1954 when they were neighbours at Thorpe-Le-Soken in Essex, and continued in production for a decade. The company designed fabrics, wallpaper and ceramics. This printed curtain fabric was based on a series of pen and ink drawings of junk and antiques Paolozzi found in the Portobello Road flea market, long before it became fashionable. Other designs he made for Hammer Prints used Victorian transfer prints, botanical and marine illustrations, rubbings from wood and children’s art.
