This photograph of Gail Porter was taken at the height of her career. She was born in Edinburgh and at the age of eighteen Porter began an HND in Media Production at West Herts College, Hemel Hempsted. At the same time she worked as a runner for a video production company. Porter then established her career as a TV presenter on family friendly and children orientated shows such as ‘Top of the Pops’, ‘Live & Kicking’ and ‘The Big Breakfast’. A publicity stunt in 1999 for FHM’s ‘Top 100 Sexiest Women Poll’ saw a photograph of Porter in the nude projected onto the Houses of Parliament in London. In 2005 she started suffering from alopecia areata, a medical condition which results in hair loss.
