Perth and Kinross
Perth and Kinross is the 'middle-step' between the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands. This central position has meant that many monarchs, armies, poets, artists and clans have trailed through the landscape as they made their way between north and south. The region has bred some of the finest military men in Scottish history, including Adam Duncan of Camperdown, General Sir George Murray and Lord George Murray. The city of Perth is the home of the famous Black Watch regiment. The town of Pitlochry boasts Scotland's smallest whisky distillery (Eradour), and one of its oldest, Blair Atholl.
