  • Scottish Art
The dancer and choreographer Michael Clark was born in Aberdeen, trained at the Royal Ballet School at the age of thirteen, and worked with the Royal Ballet and Ballet Rambert until he founded his own company in 1984. The dances he has put on stage have contained 'punk, 1960s fantasy, nudity, video, platform shoes and giant hamburgers'. These have been accompanied by an equally unconventional lifestyle, involving drugs and alcohol. The 'lovely knee, bursting through the jeans' and the 'gorgeous smooth head' in this photograph give out the energy and unusual glamour of the sitter.
