Talk | Sorcha Dallas - Alasdair Gray Magnificent Citizen

Our regular programme of Learning & Engagement talks have gone online whilst our galleries are closed, and activities are restricted.

February 2021 marked the 40th anniversary of the publication of Alasdair Gray’s 'Lanark', one of the most important Scottish novels ever written. In this talk, Sorcha Dallas, custodian of the Alasdair Gray Archive considers how Gray’s art and writing was rooted in context of his home city, Glasgow. There are several works by Alasdair Gray in the National Galleries of Scotland collection.
