J.M.W Turner - The Vaughan Bequest

In 1901, the art collector Henry Vaughan bequeathed 38 watercolours by Joseph Mallord William Turner to the Scottish National Gallery. These works were only to be exhibited to the public every year in the month of January, which has helped to preserve their spectacular colour and vibrancy.
