Young Fathers

Biography
The band Young Fathers formed in Edinburgh in 2008. Friends and creative partners since their teens, members Alloysious Massaquoi, Graham ‘G’ Hastings and Kayus Bankole produce music which draws from a number of genres. The music they make isn’t easily described and doesn’t fit under any specific style. Their refusal to pander to tabloid expectations and their willingness to discuss ‘difficult’ topics has gained them a dedicated and loyal global fanbase. In 2014 they won the Mercury Prize with their debut album Dead. Their third studio album Coca Sugar (2018) was described as ‘just as estranged of pop’s traditional structures and strictures as they’ve always been.’
