Jeremy Sutton-Hibbert studied photography at the Glasgow College of Building and Printing. His work covers a wide range of styles and subjects, from portraits to documentary photography. He has worked across the world and covered many news stories including the aftermath of 9/11 in New York, the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan and whaling in the Southern Ocean. For over 20 years he has been a contributing photographer for Greenpeace International. In 2012 he co-founded Document Scotland, a collective of photographers ‘brought together by a common vision to witness and photograph the important and diverse stories within Scotland’. Sutton-Hibbert’s archive, a collection of around one million images – spanning his work from 1988 to 2021 – was acquired by the University of St Andrews in 2022.
