Biography

The son of a tea planter, Colin Cavers was born in Assam, India in 1957, travelling 'home' to Scotland with his parents in 1965. He now works in Edinburgh as a documentary and portrait photographer, teacher and community artist. Cavers has explored his Indian roots at length in his photography, most notably through an exhibition and book about the cultivation of tea in Assam. He is currently a Lecturer in Photography at Napier University, Edinburgh.
