Born in Saskatchewan, Western Canada, Brad Askew studied Fine Art, Theatre Design at the University of Alberta, Edmonton. In 1986 he travelled to London for an internship at several West End Theatres. Two years later he immigrated to Britain and spent the next fifteen years designing main stage productions for the Questors National Amateur Theatre in Ealing, London. In 2003 Askew decided to move to Scotland and pursue his artistic practice, setting up a glass studio and returning to photography. His move north also allowed Askew to rekindle his passion for curling. He is a gold medal winning performance development coach for the Royal Caledonian Curling Club, working with Scotland’s elite international curlers.
