Alex Boyd was born in Celle, Germany, and grew up on the West Coast of Scotland. He studied History of Art, and later Archival and Museum Studies at the University of Glasgow from 2003-9. His work embraces historical processes in his contemporary practice, and he has exhibited throughout Europe. Boyd’s photographs are held in a number of public collections, including the Royal Photographic Society, The University of Glasgow, and the National Media Museum. In 2012 Boyd was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Art (FRSA).
