The Lords Cameron
About this artwork
This is a double portrait of two distinguished Scottish judges, 'Jock', Lord Cameron (1900-96), and his son, Kenneth John, Lord Cameron of Lochbroom (born 1931). There are signs that would tell us, if we did not know their identity, that these men are eminent - even powerful (the pinstripes and the old school or regimental ties). They are reserved and even wary of the camera, but the photographer has stood them side by side so we cannot help noticing their physical resemblance. Thus, the visual clues tell us that they are father and son.
