We Love Real Life Scotland
About this artwork
This screenprint by Ross Sinclair is a reworked version of a design for a neon light display at Glasgow’s ‘Radiance Festival of Light’ in 2005. The light installation was located on the façade of Glasgow City Chambers and explored notions of national, local and personal identity. The ‘real life’ slogan in the centre of this work is a commonly used phrase in Sinclair’s work and is so important to him that he has even had it tattooed onto his back. This particular print was made for the Cove Park Portfolio in 2006 and combines colourful, personalised text and graphics to create a powerful image celebrating his allegiance to ‘real’ Scotland.
