Damien Hirst

The Pharmacist's Creed

About this artwork

This work was originally displayed in Pharmacy, Hirst’s restaurant in Notting Hill, London, which opened in 1997 and closed in 2003. Although it is seen here as a lightbox, in Pharmacy it covered a window in the stairway, linking the ground floor bar with the first floor restaurant. Hirst incorporates the logo of the restaurant in the centre with his distinctive spot pattern, common in his practice since the late 1980s.
