Saint Catherine. Copy after Raphael
About this artwork
This drawing is part of an album of studies by the Scottish artist Richard Cooper. It is based on Raphael’s painting Saint Catherine of Alexandria, dated to about 1507, now in the collection of the National Gallery in London, and is one of several drawings in the album made by Cooper after Raphael. It is drawn on thin oiled or varnished paper which is firmly stuck down onto the pages of the album itself. Cooper is best known for his preparatory drawings for prints after old master paintings.
