About this artwork

In his later years, Harvey concentrated on making sensitive, beautifully executed and carefully observed views of his native Scotland. This watercolour shows Glenfalloch, the name deriving from the Gaelic 'gleann-falaich' meaning 'valley of concealment'. The River Falloch follows the course of this picturesque glen before flowing into Loch Lomond. Harvey captures the wild and unspoilt beauty of the Highland landscape.
