Eclipse
About this artwork
Havinden was art director of the celebrated Crawford’s advertising agency, but he also produced striking paintings throughout his life. Through friendships with Henry Moore and Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, he became interested in abstraction and modernist typography. This in turn influenced his advertising work and also the rugs and textiles which he designed for Duncan Miller Ltd and Edinburgh Weavers.
