About this artwork
This triptych (made up of one traditional and two montaged prints) illuminates the damages to the Nigerian landscape caused by an economy given over to oil production. The impossibility of such a large animal finding its way into the heart of a mangrove swamp suggests that Logan offers the viewer a metaphor of reality. His imagery reveals the conflict between material interests and spirituality in southern Nigeria.
