The photographs of the series, 'Sense and Science' combine earth forms and objects which belong to the people of the American West. This picture of rock worn down to wafer-thin spires demonstrates that nature can be a more ingenious architect than man. We are nevertheless left thinking that we are encountering an uninhabited man-made city in the desert.

Harry Kerr
Harry Kerr was born in Scotland in 1960 and educated at the Glasgow School of Art. He has worked at the Summerlee Heritage Trust, Coatbridge and the Glasgow School of Art. In 1991 he was awarded the Richard Hough Bursary to travel to the American West for his project Sense and Science.
