Memories of Polish Veterans
About this artwork
On the day before the Brexit referendum in 2016, Edyta made a film of herself sweeping the floor of the polling station. This would be the start of a two-year project to document her experiences of xenophobia (prejudice against people from other countries) in the wake of the referendum and her journey to become a British Citizen. Alongside charting her own experiences, she asked the veterans in her community how life in Britain has changed since the Second World War. What might the referendum mean for future generations?
