Charlie and Craig Reid 'The Proclaimers' from the series 'As Others See Us'
About this artwork
Singer-songwriters and twin brothers, Charlie (left) and Craig (right) Reid were born in Leith in 1962. Their early musical influences included Jerry Lee Lewis, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams. They played in punk bands at school before forming The Proclaimers in 1983. Renowned for raw, powerful and timeless songs, their first two albums delivered Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), Sunshine on Leith and I’m on My Way – songs which decades later, guarantee resolute sing-alongs. They released their eleventh studio album in 2018. This photograph shows the brothers in The Guildford Arms pub in Edinburgh.
