Sighthill, Glasgow
About this artwork
Chris Leslie began photographing his home city of Glasgow during an MA in Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication. His ongoing project Disappearing Glasgow documents the stories of the people on the frontline of the city’s extensive demolition and regeneration programme. The Sighthill estate which was ‘soft stripped’ ahead of its demolition so that only concrete and wallpaper remained. These stripped walls frame a view of Glasgow which no longer exists, the viewpoint demolished along with 30% of the city’s tower blocks.
