Beth Fisher

Beth Fisher

Beth Fisher was born in Maine, USA and immigrated to Britain in the 1970s. She studied Fine Art and letterly etching at the University of Wisconsin with an interim period at the Ruskin School in Oxford. Best known for her drawings and prints, Fisher’s work is focused on the human figure, with subjects of family and death explored through abstract figuration. She was instrumental in setting up both Peacock Printmakers in Aberdeen and Glasgow Print Studio, and has taught at Glasgow School of Art, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee, and Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. Fisher is a member of the Royal Scottish Academy and is currently based in Aberdeen.
