About this artwork
In the 1960s and 1970s, photographers such as Faucon used photography to manipulate and question reality and exploit and extend perceptual ambiguities. Faucon's outdoor stages would sometimes take two days to construct, using elaborate lighting techniques - mirrors, aluminium panels and occasionally gunpowder - to achieve a suitably alienating effect.
