A Premonitional Work in Three Parts. Part 3 : Guardian Ghosting (Hopq Tribal Territory) Trinity River, Humboldt, County, California, 1980
About this artwork
This triptych is from a body of work that featured in Thomas Joshua Cooper’s first book of photographs Between Dark and Dark (1985). While Cooper made these images in locations around the United States and the British Isles, for him they are ‘more the product of a compelling curiosity and a magnetic attraction to understand a varied body of knowledge, than with that of a pronounced preoccupation to document any particular place.’
