Elisabeth Frink

Grey Horse Head

About this artwork

Best known for her work in sculpture, Elisabeth Frink was also a prolific printmaker, usually working from the Curwen Press in Chilford near Cambridge. She began exploring screenprint during the late 1980s. Amongst her recurrent subjects were dogs, birds and horses, which she sought, in her own words, to capture in spirit ‘without over sentimentalising’. This screenprint directly translates the spontaneity of Frink’s confident style of mark making.
