Douglas Gordon

I am the curator of my own misery

About this artwork

This wall text written in a Bembo typeface is part of the series 'Pretty much every word written, spoken, heard, overheard from 1989...'. The series comprises of over 80 text-based works that articulate Gordon's idea of art operating as a dialogue between the artist and the public, with many of the texts addressing the viewer directly. These works also underline the artist's own fascination with language and its potential for ambiguity, obscurity and multiple readings.
