In April 2009, Susan Boyle from Blackburn, West Lothian, shot to fame after appearing as a contestant on the TV show, ‘Britain's Got Talent’. Her audition, in which she sang ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, quickly became an internet sensation, with tens of millions of people viewing it on YouTube. Since then her career has gone from strength to strength – her debut album, released in 2009, quickly became the UK’s best-selling record of all time. Boyle's stardom spread to the USA, where her album stayed at the number one spot for six weeks. This photograph shows a jovial Boyle, enjoying her success as a world-wide superstar.
