Seongsu-dong, Seoul from the series Horizons
About this artwork
This work is part of Leong’s Horizons series - an interchangeable sequence of photographs of natural and urban environments from around the world which, when hung together, create a potentially infinite landscape. It shows the Seongsu-dong area of Seoul. For the series Leong seeks out the broadest viewpoint and photographs the scene with the horizon occupying the same position in the composition. This allows the images to be displayed as a series with one view linking onto the next. Horizons constructs a utopian vision, helping us to imagine a world in which space is multi-dimensional and connected, rather than stratified and divided.
