Change of State, Melting Ice, Loch Moraig, Forest of Atholl
About this artwork
Macdonald uses aerial photography to make beautiful and striking images that are poetic and approach natural truth. This image shows melting ice on Loch Moraig, however, the unfamiliar viewpoint gives it an ambiguity that borders on abstraction. The work, like many others by Macdonald, is informed by her background as a biological scientist, as well as an interest in environmental sustainability and the impact of people on landscape.
