In 1949 Moser travelled to Scotland to photograph leading Scottish artists and writers as an assignment for American ‘Vogue’. Among the many photographs she took is this image of Neil Gunn, a figure associated with the Scottish Renaissance. Gunn was a prolific novelist, playwright and critic, born in the Highlands, Gaelic culture was the source of much of his inspiration.
