This exhibition is his first in Scotland, and the largest ever to be held in the UK. It is also the first contemporary art show to be presented by the National Galleries of Scotland in the newly refurbished Royal Scottish Academy Building.
The show contains ten works, including the five that were shown at the Cartier Foundation in Paris last winter, attracting 110,000 visitors. The remaining works are made up of important previous works - such as Man in a Boat, 2002 and a new commission of a giant baby. After Edinburgh, many of the works will be shown in New York (Nov 2006 - Feb 2007) and Ottawa (Feb - May 2007).
The show also features a cinema, showing a film of Mueck at work, a number of documentary photographs of the artist’s studio, and a display of models, maquettes and moulds.
