Modern One (Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art)

The National Galleries of Scotland are letting legendary stand-up, poet and roving sketchsmith Phill Jupitus loose in its rooms for three weeks during August. Each morning, armed with his trusty iPad loaded with drawing app Paper, Phill will sketch a favourite of his from the Gallery Collection. You are encouraged to come watch and chat with Phill, but also to join in: bring your own iPad or drawing materials and make and share your own sketches. We're posting Phill's work each day on Facebook and Twitter and ecouraging others to share their efforts there too. Phill is at a different gallery every week, he visits the Scottish National Gallery on 1-7 August, then the Portrait Gallery 8-14 August, and the Gallery of Modern Art on 15-21 August.

He and fellow stand-up and art lover Hannah Gadsby present a free talk every Thursday about the works they’ve seen that week. Part of the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

No booking required: free, unticketed.
