Organised by the National Galleries of Scotland to coincide with the exhibition Impressionism & Scotland, this conference will explore the collecting, exhibition and critical reception of French, Dutch and Scottish 19th century art in Scotland and further afield.
The conference begins on Thursday with an opening lecture by Professor Kenneth McConkey, followed by a wine reception. Other speakers include Dr John Morrison (University of Aberdeen); Dr Anna Robins (University of Reading); Belinda Thomson (University of Edinburgh); Dr Jennifer Melville (Aberdeen Art Gallery); Vivien Hamilton (Glasgow Museums); Suzanne Veldink (University of Edinburgh) and Dr Andrew Watson (independent researcher).
