This display looks at how artists have captured the excitement and spectacle of live performances over the centuries.
The works included are taken from across the National Galleries' collections and provide an eclectic record of theatrical events. On show are designs for exotic costumes and magnificent stage sets, as well as images of some of the performers and their audiences.
Footlights has been organised to coincide with the SIBMAS International Theatre Conference to be held at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow in August 2008.
