How to find the National Gallery Complex
The National Gallery of Scotland is on The Mound, right in the heart of Edinburgh, on Princes Street.
All entrances and facilities at the National Gallery Complex are open as normal during the current tram works in Edinburgh.
City centre access may be subject to diversions for road traffic.
Pedestrian access to the National Gallery Complex remains open.
As of Sunday 29th November, tram works have ceased for the holidays. Princes Street is now open to buses, taxis and cycles. Normal bus service has resumed around the city centre.
The Mound/Hanover Street junction is also open to all traffic.
We will update this page as more information becomes available, however for up-to-date details it is strongly recommended that visitors check the Edinburgh Trams website in advance of a visit.

By Train
The National Gallery of Scotland Complex is a few minutes’ walk from Waverley Station. Take the Waverley Bridge exit, and walk the short distance through Princes Street Gardens.
By Car
Follow routes for City Centre and City Centre attractions.
The Mound/Hanover Street junction is now open to all traffic.
There is no car park at the Gallery, and very limited on-street parking near the venue. We recommend that you park your car in one of the many City Centre car parks instead.
How to find the Modern Art Galleries
The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and Dean Gallery are located fifteen minutes’ walk from Princes Street and set in beautiful parkland. From the West End of Princes Street walk along Shandwick Place before turning right onto Palmerston Place. Follow Palmerston Place down onto Belford Road and across the bridge. The galleries are a short walk further along Belford Road.
By Bus
The Modern Art Galleries are serviced by Edinburgh Coach Lines no.13 service.
By Train
The Dean Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art are a few minutes’ walk from Haymarket Station. Follow Palmerston Place down onto Belford Road and across the Bridge. The galleries are a short walk further along Belford Road.
By Car
The Gallery of Modern Art and Dean Gallery have free car parks. Disabled parking facilities are available at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and Dean Gallery.
