The National Galleries of Scotland has a first-class record in high-level arts sponsorship deals with an impressive list of corporate partners. 2006 was an exciting time for the Galleries, with the busiest summer season to date. Over 3,500 visitors saw the Ron Mueck exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy in one day alone. The National Galleries of Scotland was the second most visited attraction in Edinburgh and nearly one million visitors walked through our doors.

Brodies LLP sponsorship of 'Duane Hanson' at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art worked exceptionally well for the firm at a number of levels. We chose the exhibition because it was fresh, exciting and very accessible and it presented opportunities for us to develop our brand, engage our commercial and private clients and involve staff from across the business. As anticipated the exhibition broke visitor figure targets and we wanted to be part of this success.

After considering our options, the National Galleries of Scotland 'Rembrandt’s Women' exhibition was selected as it was felt it had complementary objectives. It was a world first for the exhibition and would generate significant profile in its own right in addition to the marketing the National Galleries would undertake for it… It was a new relationship, which developed well over the summer months with both sides committed to working as a team. Following the full review and evaluation of the activity undertaken we have decided it is a relationship we would like to continue with and very quickly made the decision to commit to further sponsorship.

- The Royal Bank of Scotland was delighted to sponsor the inaugural exhibition, 'Monet; The Seine and The Sea'. The Monet exhibition was a huge success for the National Galleries of Scotland and The Royal Bank with a record total of over 173,000 seeing the exhibition including many of The Royal Bank’s customers and staff.
