Showing across the whole of Modern One, From Death to Death and Other Small Tales brings together over 80 iconic masterpieces from one of the most important holdings of contemporary art, the D. Daskalopoulos Collection – many of which have never been seen in this country – with an equal number of gems from our own collection at the Gallery of Modern Art. The show highlights the diverse ways that modern and contemporary artists have explored the theme of the body, and works from the two collections will be shown together in revelatory juxtapositions. Artists featured include Otto Dix, Pablo Picasso, René Magritte, Joseph Beuys, Louise Bourgeois, Sarah Lucas, Bruce Nauman, Rachel Whiteread and Mike Kelley.
Senior Curator Lucy Askew, will give a short introduction to the exhibition, and Curator Lauren Logan will be on hand to answer questions.
