The annual Inspired? Get Writing! creative writing competition, a joint venture between the National Galleries of Scotland, the English-Speaking Union Scotland and the Scottish Poetry Library, aims to encourage new, emerging and established writers of all ages to look to the national collection for inspiration as they forge links between art and the written word.
The poems and short stories within this anthology are the results of that process. Ranging from works by published writers to those of the emerging young writers of the future, they are, each and every one, an inspiring demonstration and wholehearted celebration of contemporary Scottish writing.
