Twenty of Scotland’s leading playwrights, authors and poets have been commissioned to write monologues inspired by a portrait from our collection.

Published to co-incide with the promenade performance by the National Theatre of Scotland starting 24 April 2014 at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Dear Scotland is a witty, intelligent and irreverent conversation between Scotland and the figures, whether iconic or forgotten, that make the country what it is today.
