Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art Library

The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art Reference Library is based at Modern Two. The Reference Library collection reflects the Modern One and Modern Two's own art collection.

The Library consists of around 50,000 items, including:

  • monographs
  • catalogues raisonnés
  • exhibition catalogues
  • videos
  • audio tapes
  • CD-ROMs
  • DVDs

This library’s great strengths are Dada and Surrealism, early twentieth century artists and contemporary Scottish art.

Reference Library materials are viewed in the Modern Two Reading Room which is open by appointment only, Monday to Friday from 10am-1pm and 2-4.30pm.

Appointments must be made at least one week in advance (two weeks for group visits). Contact us to make an appointment.
