Emilian School

Emilian School

If the identity of an artist who made a painting is not known, the work is often described as belonging to a regional school. This is because it appears to share stylistic characteristics with paintings by artists from that region. A painting of the Emilian school means that it is probably by an artist working in the northern Italian province of Emilia.
