Here are some useful tips to help everyone enjoy their visit. 

• Split into groups of 20 or less before you enter the gallery and throughout your visit. There must be a responsible adult with each group at all times. 
• Carry rucksacks in your hand, or leave in the lockers provided.
• Follow any instructions given by gallery staff.
• Touching artworks and plinths is not allowed. Even clean hands cause damage.
• No food or drink is allowed inside the gallery. Please book a lunchroom if you would like to eat snacks or lunch during your visit (subject to availability).
• You can take photos of most artworks. Check the labels for exceptions. No flash and tripods please.

We ask groups of 10 or more to book a visit in advance. If your group consists of less than 10 people there is no need to book.

We ask large groups to split into smaller groups of a maximum of 20 people before they enter the gallery and throughout their visit.

Please book at least two weeks in advance for a self-guided visit. 

Self-guided visits to the permanent collection are always free.

Some temporary exhibitions are ticketed. Tickets for ticketed exhibitions can be purchased on site on the day of your visit, or you can purchase in advance online.

Get in touch with our Events team and meet with our curators and expert conservators to create bespoke experiences including gallery tours or informative talks that are entirely unique to our venues.

Our website also provides information on current displays. However if you are planning to see a specific artwork please get in touch to confirm if it is on show on the date of your visit. Artworks sometimes go on loan to other galleries or might be temporarily in conservation.
