Self-guided Visits

Self Guided Visits are encouraged at any of the sites, but please contact our administrator Lucy to advise us of your plans in advance.

The teacher or group leader may find it useful to make a preliminary visit to find out what is on display.

It really isn't necessary to know everything about the works; look for clues artists use in their work as well as the information on the curators' labels - this is a great starting point to help you understand what is on display.

Useful questions you could use with your group:

  • What do you see?
  • What stands out?
  • What makes you say that?
  • Do you like it? Why/Why not?
  • How does it make you feel?

The teacher/group leader is responsible for the conduct of their group at all times whilst in the gallery and must ensure that Health & Safety guidelines are observed.
