National Galleries of Scotland and the Curriculum for Excellence

Pupils and teachers from across Scotland are welcome at all four galleries in Edinburgh, either using the national art collection as a learning resource in person or in the classroom.

The Collection

The National Galleries of Scotland's' vast collection spans from the early Renaissance to the present day and includes works by some of the most important artists in history. Using art as a starting point for learning is a powerful way to deliver the four capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence as well as enhancing and extending classroom learning.

Entry to the permanent art collection and paying exhibitions is free to school groups, however, you must book in advance.
