Since 2002 the National Galleries of Scotland has been offering tours of current exhibitions for deaf people. These tours have been delivered by the Community Education Officer and interpreted into British Sign Language by a registered interpreter.

There is an induction loop in the Hawthornden Lecture Theatre at the National Gallery Complex, making the lectures there accessible to people who are hard of hearing. Portable induction loops are also available to borrow for the gallery-based lunchtime lectures at the National Gallery. Please go to the Information Desk at the Weston Link between 12 noon and 12.30pm on the day of the lecture and borrow a loop in exchange for a deposit.
