This photograph is part of a series called ‘Splinter’, which is concerned with capturing aspects of everyday life. Here a calendar showing a painting by Botticelli has been photographed as a sliver of sunlight crosses the centre of the composition, bisecting the figure. The inclusion of the aerial that juts into the frame from the bottom right creates an inverse line and also stimulates curiosity as to what is beyond the edges of the photograph.
