Alex Main (Scottish, 1940 - 2010)
Born in Edinburgh, Main graduated from Loughborough College of Art in 1975 and has exhibited throughout Britain. He was a portrait sculptor who worked in bronze. Main was chosen to sculpt writer Neil Gunn's memorial in Dunbeath. The Scottish National Portrait Gallery and Edinburgh Park (a large new business district west of the city) commissioned portraits of 20th century Scottish poets from him.
