Edward Gage (Scottish, 1925 - 2000)
Edward Gage was born in Gullane, East Lothian, and studied at Edinburgh Collage of Art. He had a varied and distinguished career as a painter, illustrator, stage designer, writer and teacher. He taught at Fettes College, Napier College of Science and Technology and at Edinburgh Collage of Art. He was art critic of `The Scotsman? from 1966-95, and provided illustrations for a number of publications including `The Radio Times?. He was president of the Scottish Society of Artists from 1960-4 and in 1992 he made an MBE for services to Scottish art.
