Erics Watching Television 1967
  • Scottish Art
This work was commissioned by the professional photographer Eric Thorburn. It shows him sitting in his Glasgow flat with his youngest son on his lap. Gray has noted that during the same sitting he also drew Eric’s elder son, which may have been part of this work. The slightly unbalanced composition may, therefore, be due to the original work being divided in two when Eric separated from his wife, Helen.
